MIAMI, FL – (November 21, 2019)Bridge Development Partners, one of South Florida’s most active industrial real estate developers, was recently honored at the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Annual Community Appearance Awards Ceremony for its Bridge Point Riverbend project located at the intersection of I-95 and Broward Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

“We are proud to have received this prestigious honor and more importantly, to continue to play a role in enhancing the local communities where we live and work by delivering exceptional projects,” said Kevin Carroll, Partner, Southeast Region of Bridge Development Partners.  “We couldn’t have done it without our award-winning team and congratulate everyone on a job well done.”

Completed in the second quarter of last year, the new 221,542-square-foot, state-of-the-art industrial building has been a boon to the local economy, bringing more than 470 new jobs to the local community, and today is home to ShipMonk, one of South Florida’s fastest growing startup companies that has carved out a niche in the e-commerce sector.

Fort Lauderdale City Commissioner Robert L. McKinzie said, “We are excited about Bridge’s ongoing commitment to investing in Fort Lauderdale, and specifically, in District III. This new project is critical to moving our City forward by transforming an underutilized property, bringing a beautiful new building to our community, and creating more jobs.”

Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler added, “The City of Fort Lauderdale appreciates investment in smart, sustainable projects like Bridge Point Riverbend. It’s critical in driving our economic engine forward.”

The Community Appearance Awards are bestowed annually to recognize outstanding projects that enhance the City’s visual image and economic vitality. Since the program’s inception in 1978, more than 1,000 commercial, residential, landscape improvements and renovation projects have been recognized with this prestigious award.

This is the second consecutive year that Bridge has won this award. In 2018, Bridge was recognized for its Bridge Point I-95 state-of-the-art industrial park.

Bridge Point Riverbend created 270 construction jobs, as well as an additional 200 plus permanent jobs to date—a number anticipated to grow to more than 500 permanent jobs over the next 18 months thanks to its major tenant, ShipMonk, who inked a 170,447-square-foot lease. ShipMonk relocated its Deerfield Beach headquarters to Bridge Point Riverbend last year.

The project was a joint venture between Bridge Development Partners; Akard Street Partners, L.P., an investment partnership operated by Banner Oak Capital Partners, L.P.; and Elion Partners, a Miami-based real estate investment group.

Located at 201 NW 22nd Avenue, Bridge Point Riverbend features 32’ clear ceiling heights, rear-dock loading, ESFR sprinkler systems, and a 1.4/1,000 parking ratio. The strategically located facility offers easy access to South Florida’s major transportation arteries with immediate proximity to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades, and just a short 30-minute drive to Miami.

Since 2012, Bridge has acquired 473 acres throughout Miami Dade and Broward Counties and delivered more than 3 MSF of Class-A industrial space across the region. The company’s current South Florida portfolio spans more than 4 million square feet.
