As the first of Phillipsburg’s new, massive warehouses nears completion, a question remains: Who will use it?
The developer hopes to soon reveal the answer.
On Tuesday, a spokesman for Bridge Development Partners told the Phillipsburg Town Council that a tenant may be announced as soon as next week for the “big building” – the 975,761-square-foot behemoth off Route 22 on the Lopatcong Township side of the property.
That is the second-largest of six warehouses totaling 3.85 million square feet planned for the Bridge Point 78 development in the I-78 Logistics park, the former site of Phillipsburg’s largest employer, Ingersoll Rand.
The project has been identified as one of the biggest, new industrial developments in the U.S. this year.
